Dr. Chou has been working on numerical weather prediction and data assimilation for the past few years. He is currently working on assimilating AIRS profile data into the WRF model using its 3DVAR assimilation component. He has a diverse research interest, including nonlinear dynamics in supercritical baroclinic flows, moist symmetric instability in regional dynamics, wind lidar impact in mesoscale forecasts, and short-range regional ensemble forecasts. His publications appeared in refereed journals, conference proceedings, and contribution to books.
