Ms. Herrmann began her NASA career in 1980 at the Marshall Space Flight Center in the former Systems Analysis and Integration Laboratory supporting Spacelab missions. She became a team leader in the Systems Integration Branch of the Preliminary Design Office in 1992 and has served as the engineering study team leader for many science and small spacecraft missions and tether propulsion applications. She joined the Advanced Space Transportation Program team in 1999 to work on a tether propulsion project and other advanced propulsion tasks that eventually led to the formation of the In-Space Propulsion Projects Office at MSFC. She served as the Technology Area Manager for the Technology Planning and Systems Analysis area for NASA’s In-Space Propulsion Technology Program from 2002-2006. Ms. Herrmann joined the SPoRT program as Project Manager in November of 2006.
