Images of damage path were captured by NASA's Terra satellite, part of NASA's Earth Observing Satellite system. An instrument aboard Terra captured the images show the scars from the outbreak.
Radar reflectivity was overlaid upon ASTER satellite data, showing damage tracks resulting from the tornadoes near Tuscaloosa, AL and Phil Campbell, AL.
NASA's SPoRT Center at MSFC is helping in the aftermath of these severe storms by providing the National Weather Service with unique NASA satellite data for observation and damage assessment.
