Meeting Logistics

General Information: The NASA Public Health Program Review will be held September 21 - 23, 2009 at The Mulberry Inn in Savannah, GA. The meeting will begin with a reception on September 21 st at 5:30 pm and conclude at 2:30 p.m. on September 23. A draft copy of the agenda is attached.

Per Diem: The per diem rates for the Savannah area are $108 for lodging.

Accommodations: A block of rooms has been reserved at The Mulberry Inn. The meeting rate is $108.00 per night plus 13% state and local tax plus a $1.00 city occupancy fee per night.

Please call the hotel directly at 912-238-1200 or toll free at 877-468-1200 to make your reservation. Please reference the “NASA Public Health Program Review” when booking your room reservation. The cut-off date to guarantee your room is Tuesday, September 1, 2009. After September 1 st the block of sleeping rooms will be released, and rooms may not be available.

Parking: Parking is available at The Mulberry Inn for $12.00 a day for meeting attendees. Parking fees will be waived for Holiday Inn Priority Club Members.

Airports: Savannah International is approximately 10 miles (20 minutes) away from the hotel.

Taxicabs are available at the exits of the terminal.

Paula Dean’s Restaurant :

On Tuesday night we have arranged to have dinner (buffet) at Paula Dean’s Restaurant in Savannah (The Lady and Sons). This will not be paid for by the Program so each individual will pay for their own meal. The cost will be $26-$30 depending on the size of the group. You must let Sue know if you are interested in going and also you will need to have cash to pay for your meal. They will not do individual checks so we will pay in cash at the restaurant. The menu/information on the restaurant can be found at: http://www.ladyandsons.com/. All reservations must be made by August 25th with Sue. We are going to try to arrange bus transportation but it is within walking distance since it is less than a 1 mile. This is optional you are not required to attend.

Restaurants nearby: The Mulberry Inn is located across the street from the River Street which has many restaurants and shops. Many restaurants are within a few blocks of the hotel.

Other Attractions: Savannah has many historical sites to visit and also Tybee Island Lighthouse and Island is about 20 miles. Enjoy the Southern Hospitality of Savannah!
